Case study

The project

A closer look at the original condition, the preparation involved and how the finished result was achieved.

The Brief

This bedroom in Allestree needed its existing walls and ceiling prepared and plastered, including repairs around the bay window. The work covered 64 m² and was completed over two days.

The Challenge

The original surfaces needed careful preparation to provide a suitable background for the new plaster. Gaps and damage around the window reveals required boarding and repair work, while furniture that could not be moved out had to be protected throughout the job.

Our Approach

The furniture was covered and the floor protected before preparation began. The existing surfaces were prepared and local repairs carried out to make the background suitable for plastering. Around the bay window, damaged areas and gaps were boarded and repaired, with corner beads fitted before the skim finish was applied.

The Result

The bedroom was left with freshly plastered walls, ceiling and window reveals. The repaired bay window now forms part of the finished plasterwork, ready to dry fully before decoration.
